The idea for a debate.com fansite isn't new. The first manifestation of the idea was a Facebook group, which was primarily used to organize tournaments. But not every debate.org member had a facebook account, and so it never took off. Then, the user s0m31john created DebateF.com, which served as a temporary forum until the actual Debate.org forum was implemented. But then two and a half months later, the official debate.com forums were released, and DebateF.com was phased out. This website, DebateFans.com, is the third attempt -- an attempt that strives to be a community organizing place, a website where users can post and read articles; where community news can be read; where users can record and watch media; and where Johnicle's tournaments can be organized.
In order to meet these needs, PoeJoe created this community-run site. This fansite is a place where members can come for information not available in any offical form.
